Take OFF
Sifting sand--now in the habit of trying to find the gold ores of faith amidst estuarine rocks--I get to expose the faith--the real one in me! For a moment now, I'm believing for stuff and doing things that I can actually and only fruit in the natural. Sunday, I came home--you got it--to my senses: I was ([was] that's not so long ago) actually living a life not my own--someone not unknown (magulo noh?)--someone presumed extinct--someone expected obsolete--but one I was trying to revive: Rejoice Lagat-in-the-previous-level. Now pebbling in me precious dusts of faith, I am strengthened inside. Our most recent Klosel (my favorite spelling for the Eagurlz's primary close cell, which I'm fond of calling K-Night) was the culprit. Anointed yata yung Jollibee couch! Haha. The girls and I were up for a night of program designing for the next two big events in our ministries (sense of ownership?)--Reload's fourth year anniversary (I will be speaking! And I'm thrilled!); and the presentation of my Twelve's Twelves--the Eagurlz144's Night. We were expecting a night of shaping the skeletons. Seeing my governors in their excitement--I saw just that--ado.
All eyes on me--I said, "Hey! Thanks for the excitement--but can you please verbalize the glitters in your eyes?" However, I still did the wording--Pressure. Positive maybe, still, it's pressure. Most of them committed that they can form their twelves by June fourteenth.
G12 Lessons (by the Eagurlz--haha!):
1. Do things with the right motivation--I remember forming my twelve in December 31, 2007. Past three years in the G12 Vision, I knew in my heart it was my season to build the altar. It wasn't out of pressure because some One-Four-Four gathering was up. It was the year's fruition--the year's offering to the Lord. Twelve. Col3:23.
2. Build a Team of Twelve that will govern the next generation of leaders. Forming the twelve is not about complying the demands of an ambitious leader. It is not rush. It is not an event. It is a preparation for the next level of ministry. It is about catering the coming of the pre-(new-)believers--the next line of twelves--their preparation, heart and capacities will enable the rooming for the next, next line of twelves. Preparation is key.
Feeling the lack of preparation since most of our girls are still in their provinces, I lipped off the movement of the gathering to a new date. (siyempre, mejo hesitant pud ko ato--kay gusto man pud nila dayunon--but I was after the lasting and more effective result--painfully, through waiting--and more waiting--nakaka-relate ba kau?). Sure, the girls would be back at the end of this month; would be having enough finances for our supposed beach-cocktail party; will be staying on the fourteenth--since it's a holiday weekend--nonetheless, the entire heart preparation is not enough. Also, the network will be spearheading the anniversary come June 26th--which will require us extensive precipitation of our ideas, time, labors and (again) finances.
Hmmm...
We were weighing things. Taking them out. And weighing them again. Tough.
Arrive July, we will be starting the next Pre-Encounter (batch 17). August--the presentation of the 144s. September--Sunog Mindanao III. Yes, quite a busy quarter. Mas busy dapat sa prayer ano?
Wazzup this June? Shifting hands! My doce (that night, called themselves "Doc's" short for DOCe, "c" sounds as "k"--feeling doctors na sila--Ako naman daw talaga ung "Gov" kasi ako naman ang part ng primary twelve... But honestly, I like the sound and feeling of mama better... myrej, mrej, or terej... it sounds pamilyang-pamilya... P.Rej evolved recently kasi the network leaders are now called network pastors... pero, parang lumayo yata ako sa mga anak ko! Haaay... name calling! Enough for the detour...)--planned to meet their girls... re-align them with the vision (you know what summer can do! haha); most of them going back to the PEPSOL process.
Then, one of the doc's (can't remember exactly who said it--super maingay kasi kami--brain storming--tsaka feathering !!!) suggested that we start the Pre-Encounter this June since a lot are ready but were not able to join the summer Encounter (kasi umuwi nga *wink*) while waiting for the 3rd Q's Enc naman would be straining na... We'd have an early Encounter this July and meet after a week for a network celebration--which will be the presentation of twelves!
Ang taas ng faith noh? Wow. My girls' feathers now have grown. (from an eagle song)
Wooooh!
They were volunteering for the Pre-Enc teaching loads. We'd be having the Pre-Enc during Conquest Night skeds--5pm/Sundays. (My girls are power preachers, by the way! The Conquest Nights exposed it! Thank you Holy Spirit! You are the Reason.)
And oooohh--what excited them more was the Encounter lessons--they want to teach. I can feel it in their Spirit. And I can confirm in the Spirit, too, that they are ready (and will be preparing more) to minister. So we checked the Encounter lessons and made assignments! (Indeed, we were soaring in faith that Jollibee Night!)
We reviewed the goals--at least 60 Eagurls for the July 10-12, 2009 Encounter. The Take OFF (144's Night) will be a week after--no longer the fancy beach-cocktail party--but a simpler gathering at BCC. We'll be in our pyjamas and pica-pica food nalang while gathered on mattresses (sana may mahiraman kaming air beds! haha...). We'll be listening to Ptr. Merlyn's exhortation after some kantahan, kulitan (sure yan!), games, manicure-pedicure(-kulot?) sessions... SPArty!
Ito pala lahat ung excitement sa mga mata nila... Di rin nila alam... Pero pinabasa din ni Lord sa 'min nung lumalim na ang gabi... Really, sometimes, there are things that thrill us to the gut, but we don't know it...
-until we spend time with God and (xempre time din with His people *wink*);
-until we learn our lessons;
-until we're ready for it.
At a loss for words...
Lord, help us.
We wrote the desires (plans na actually) and laid our hands on them. We were all so passionate in the intercession--abi namo naa lang mi sa BCC! We were at Jollibee! Hahaha. Mabuti nalang, solo namin ung room! Haha.
Until now... I am humbled by my girls' faith and the leading of the Holy Spirit. These are still plans--let God honor it. If He makes shifts again--super okay parin--as long as He's leading the flight.
:>
Eagurlz Take OFF!!!
ps: me at the end of penning this blog:

part II:
(i can't help but update this blog, hehe)
we're moving the Take OFF Night pala frm July 18 to Aug01, so we can have Micah with us... di pwedeng kulang! haha... I'll take this time to thank the Lord din, for Micah's life, her career included... she's a nurse by profession, a school administrator by practice. she's drafted to be one of Phoenix Publishing's Team of Speakers here in the PI. She's going to be the youngest! haha, imagine her colleages--academe vets--grandma's by age and experience! she couldn't be so if she will not have a training in San Francisco, USA this July... Galing noh?! "She once winced, how could a nurse like me take a call like this?" Hmmm? Pano nga ba? Simple lang po! Talagang magaling si Lord mag set-up! Pa-steup na din tau?! hahaha!
To Micah---keep growing your feathers! Fly high, agila! :x

2nd PCGAMI G12 Youth Summit
pero power din ang Unleashing message ni
Youth Reload Chairman Ating!
grashoppers (a.k.a Team BCC) at the Summit!
(that's our team, Soul Seekers, doing the Sponge Focus)
we didn't finish the praise & worship...
and it went super awesome!
so we just sat down right where we were
to listen to the exhortation of the Word!
I believe we all went home energized, enriched and equipped!
I could still remember the very morning
on a July 2007 Staff Fasting at Hope Mt.,
where I heard God telling me to gather the PCGAMI young people.
I was a little scared since I have never been
that involved with PCGAMI's youth gatherings
especially with the regional sphere.
I called up ate Raya & Kuya Joey Gregorio
to share with them the burden...
Just head on, it confirmed their very desire to gather
the youth leaders of the religion (hahaha!).
we met bu August 2007 in Cagayan de Oro City
(my first time to bus travel for 7hrs straight!)
along with Kuya Paul & Jing Cagadas,
Jay Sayon, Aneth Poloyapoy, Hope Tiempo,
Eric & Yayang Ejosa and
Kuya & Michelle Tabor.
Twelve people who have a heart for the young people!
Isn't it prophetic?
hehehe...
The first one last year was set
to light a fire in the young people.
The recent one was a real equipping time...
I wonder what would happen next year!
I hope it happens here in Durian City!
***to all who came!
God bless you guys!!!
mail and keep us posted!

confessions of a reluctant traveller
[stop @bayugan, agusan del norte/5th hour of the trip]
always windy in this time of the year,
we headed off the road to agusan del norte.
we left early monday morning
as a team of eight:
my papaps, ma, butch, arnold,
ptr. noel, tita virgie (ptr. noel's wife)
and ptr. saniel.
we were booked to hold a series of encounters;
one in buenavista
and another in nasipit.
i was so excited when i first heard
that i was drafted to speak (hehe!),
but before leaving, i was all thrilled
about assisting the then-upcoming
youth reload @ people's park.
(first time for reload,
and first time for people's park to hold
and christian youth gathering!)
definitely torn.

but as i was at the hills of the
TMI (Teen Missions International) bootcamp,
i knew i was there for a purpose:
God's way of keeping me
in utter seclusion for himself
so that He can speak to me.

[ptr. tommy mascariñas]
when my pop, ma and i finished our first
sessions of the Encounter,
a number of pastors were left balling
in inspiration (if i may say that)
and in hope, too,
that they would minister with their kids one day.
well-known and veteran pastors spoke with me
and challenged me to meet their young(s).
there is such a need of ministry...
pastors get ministered in conferences,
and even pastor's wives get a doze in books...
but how about the PK's?
i do have a burden for PK's way back in
high school when some of my PK friends
were reportedly messing up...
but i can't believe that
this very burden would be awakened
at this very busy time of my life..
haha, as if i had been really idle...
like, soo idle as an iguana being stoned
in itself of doing really nothing!
so, in the midst of the pastor's encounter,
i was already machinating ideas of
a PK's event
and at the same time,
being bombarded with my pending work:
a. reload program assistance for Fri
b. team building facilitator's training by Sat
c. Pre-Encounter Conso for the Eagurlz net.
i am not promising that one would come
into fruition this year,
but i'm definitely saying YES to
whatever service i can give
in precipitating a gathering
to ignite the PKs.
my reluctance of leaving BCC last week
was replaced with a fresh enthusiasm
as i see a new dimension of ministry.
the trip was concluded with another
Encounter @Nasipit (as mentioned),
and the three of us: Butch & Arnold
rushed back to the city to join Reload.
Papa, spoke to another Encounter
at Panabo City last Sat.
yeah, we're busy.
but productive.
if God continues to speak
even at the heap of things...
i'll never even include
RELUCTANCE in my dictionary again.

conquest night @people's park
Eagurlz's Conquest Night
(after 4months!)
at People's Park last night
(15 October 2008)...
53 souls came to celebrate God's goodness!
@6pm, the rain poured
and emptied the whole park with people...
we were a little worried that the girls
won't come anymore..
after 20 min or so,
the weather faired and it left
the place, all for ourselves! haha!
What a way for God to
make us alone with him.
we had fun games:
+do u love ur neighbor?
+number charade relay/verse puzzle
(complicated! but we won! Go, Tsuru-Tsuru Whaw Team!)
+Maging Egg Ka Man
=>we also had the Word
=>Vision Casting
=>Awarding for Cell Leaders
(first in 4yrs!)
the night was spearheaded by
MaAnne's Network...
MCs: Langga & Kilet
Worship Leader: Mitzie

october praise
i hate to admit that i was frustrated
at the fact that we were not able to
photo-document the night...
all the regrets!
low batts and negligence on my part to check the cams!
tsk tsk tsk!
anyway, the night was a true party in the Spirit!
being able to understand
that on our own, we think we're good.
and at that, we're right.
just that--good.
and then failures are guaranteed to come rushing.
because we are never good enough.
our own standards fail
because God's never going to use it.
and so last night, we were able to trade
our own clothes of standards
and lifestyles...
we are ready to embrace a new robe,
purchased by Jesus
and is Jesus Himself!
We are ready to enjoy the wedding banquet with Him!
we are now qualified, not because of our own goodness
and efforts... but qualified through His grace!
ahhhh!!!

vision casting at JILMI
we left davao at three in the afternoon yesterday.
we were bound for JILMI
(Jesus is Lord Ministries International),
Digos City.
i brought AJ along with me
since i can't bring the eleven others yet.
we jumped into the Holiday bus
and readied ourselves for the youth vision casting
with prayers and songs.
We were welcomed by a darkened city
because the power went off the whole day.
we pushed through with the activity, though.
(since we're already there! haha!)
Cathy, Ps. Ally's and Ps.Marlyn's youngest daughter
greeted us with a candle-lit dinner.
came seven-thirty, we started the night.
and at the first song,
the place was electrified.
God is really good, right?
Favor is on our side!
I shared about Mary's divine encounter
and her discipleship to Elizabeth.
I wish to share the points in the message.
but that would be on a different blog,
if you don;t mind! ;-D
we retired at the Floreses
and spend the wee hours with Cathy.
knowing her and the youth group,
giving tips and developing sisterhood.
still jumpy,
AJ and I continued to talk at our room
about our goals, victories
and what else we can do for our network.
We ministered that night
yet, we felt like receiving our own
portion of fire and ideas for the Vision!!!
praise God!
We continued ministerting early today,
but this time, to a group of pastors
under Ps. Ally's network.
I was given the first session
(Working the G12 Vision)...
I had a great week,
and tomorrow will start another one.
ktfb, everyone!

SM2 Execom
here are the SM2 pics i found @friendster
(through Erika's site, thx Kai!)...
through all the sleepless nights and emergency meetings...
they all came to a fruition
of a dyanamic, enriching and transformational
two-venued conference!
it was a collaborative work of
the three main G12 networks
in Mindanao which are led
by pastors ruffy lagat, noel alkuino & herly montes.
the second of the annual G12 conferences here
(excluding the previous summits and G12 conferences),
SM2 marked yet another consuming fire
for evangelism and discipleship.
Yes, G12 is a system. But G12 is character.
As part of the SM2 Executive Committee,
i learned a lot from planning,
shifting (being flexible),
creative and diligent,
selfless and faithful!
We're now all back to our respective congregations.
but we're happier in serving
and more excited at what God has in store
for the Mindanao churches!
We caught the spirit of the vision
and we will run with it!!!
