confessions of a reluctant traveller

[stop @bayugan, agusan del norte/5th hour of the trip]

always windy in this time of the year,

we headed off the road to agusan del norte.
we left early monday morning
as a team of eight:
my papaps, ma, butch, arnold,
ptr. noel, tita virgie (ptr. noel's wife)
and ptr. saniel.
we were booked to hold a series of encounters;
one in buenavista
and another in nasipit.
i was so excited when i first heard
that i was drafted to speak (hehe!),
but before leaving, i was all thrilled
about assisting the then-upcoming
youth reload @ people's park.
(first time for reload,
and first time for people's park to hold
and christian youth gathering!)
definitely torn.
but as i was at the hills of the
TMI (Teen Missions International) bootcamp,
i knew i was there for a purpose:
God's way of keeping me
in utter seclusion for himself
so that He can speak to me.[ptr. tommy mascariñas]

when my pop, ma and i finished our first
sessions of the Encounter,
a number of pastors were left balling
in inspiration (if i may say that)
and in hope, too,
that they would minister with their kids one day.
well-known and veteran pastors spoke with me
and challenged me to meet their young(s).
there is such a need of ministry...
pastors get ministered in conferences,
and even pastor's wives get a doze in books...
but how about the PK's?
i do have a burden for PK's way back in
high school when some of my PK friends
were reportedly messing up...
but i can't believe that
this very burden would be awakened
at this very busy time of my life..
haha, as if i had been really idle...
like, soo idle as an iguana being stoned
in itself of doing really nothing!
so, in the midst of the pastor's encounter,
i was already machinating ideas of
a PK's event
and at the same time,
being bombarded with my pending work:
a. reload program assistance for Fri
b. team building facilitator's training by Sat
c. Pre-Encounter Conso for the Eagurlz net.
i am not promising that one would come
into fruition this year,
but i'm definitely saying YES to
whatever service i can give
in precipitating a gathering
to ignite the PKs.
my reluctance of leaving BCC last week
was replaced with a fresh enthusiasm
as i see a new dimension of ministry.

the trip was concluded with another
Encounter @Nasipit (as mentioned),
and the three of us: Butch & Arnold
rushed back to the city to join Reload.
Papa, spoke to another Encounter
at Panabo City last Sat.

yeah, we're busy.
but productive.if God continues to speak
even at the heap of things...
i'll never even include
RELUCTANCE in my dictionary again.

conquest night @people's park

Eagurlz's Conquest Night
(after 4months!)
at People's Park last night
(15 October 2008)...
53 souls came to celebrate God's goodness!
@6pm, the rain poured
and emptied the whole park with people...
we were a little worried that the girls
won't come anymore..
after 20 min or so,
the weather faired and it left
the place, all for ourselves! haha!
What a way for God to
make us alone with him.
we had fun games:
+do u love ur neighbor?
+number charade relay/verse puzzle
(complicated! but we won! Go, Tsuru-Tsuru Whaw Team!)
+Maging Egg Ka Man
=>we also had the Word
=>Vision Casting
=>Awarding for Cell Leaders
(first in 4yrs!)
the night was spearheaded by
MaAnne's Network...
MCs: Langga & Kilet
Worship Leader: Mitzie
Word: Terej
Att: 60

ok2ber praise

our second Tuesday Reload.
146 Att.
host network: fuego de dios
speaker: arnold gabato
Worship concerns our whole being...
a change of mindset..
a consistent focus on the Lord..
in whatever we do...
wherever we are...
Maricor headed our network huddle
with a very creative Name Game
(Tutukay Game, naa mo ana?)
and xempre concluded with our
upgraded Eagurlz Cheer!
God is good...
Tuesdays are never the same!

fun with angels

i was visited by 3 little angels
just to being me joy
this early morning!
of course they were sent
to teach me to rejoice...
a follow-up of the Word last Sunday,
"you shall weep no more"
-Isaiah 30:18
Well, everybody knew i had a hard time sleeping
last Saturday night...
truthfully, 'weeping may remain for a night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning!'
i cna;t write the whole reason,
but here are the things that are certain:
-i will continue to run.
-my network's gonna be fine.
-my girls can overcome.
-i'm willing to learn.
-i'm willing to cry with my leaders.
-i'm willing to cry for my leaders.
-"when i fall, i will rise." -Micah7:8
-God is in control.
-but im willing to solve the problem.
-no running away.

Sure, i led the worship the following morning
and i was so glad to be set free.

unless i become a child,
i can't enter the kingdom of God!
ang sarap maging bata!
innocence and purity...
i'll be a child in awe of You, Jesus!

G12 Pinoy

it was a seminar on the nuts and bolts
of the G12 Vision.
It was all the more enlightening
as we were able to spot
the itzy bitsy parts of the things
we think we still need to reinforce!
i'll definitely blog about the topics!
nxt week...
promise!

october praise

i hate to admit that i was frustrated
at the fact that we were not able to
photo-document the night...
all the regrets!
low batts and negligence on my part to check the cams!
tsk tsk tsk!
anyway, the night was a true party in the Spirit!
being able to understand
that on our own, we think we're good.
and at that, we're right.
just that--good.
and then failures are guaranteed to come rushing.
because we are never good enough.
our own standards fail
because God's never going to use it.
and so last night, we were able to trade
our own clothes of standards
and lifestyles...
we are ready to embrace a new robe,
purchased by Jesus
and is Jesus Himself!
We are ready to enjoy the wedding banquet with Him!
we are now qualified, not because of our own goodness
and efforts... but qualified through His grace!
ahhhh!!!

if you are faithful with little things, you will be granted the big ones!

go for the gold, ma!

my mom turned fifty today...
i wish i still have my lola to enliven
what had happened on October 6, 1958.
anyway, what matters is that
after all these years,
my mom is still here fighting and enjoying
great blessings God graced her with.
i admit, we were not able to really plan her big day.
and so i managed to text all the friends we know
so that they can greet her even through an SMS.
i was glad that i heard her enjoying
her well-wishers' thoughts!
people came to bring her cake, gold and yellow tokens,
letters, etc.
i know more's coming this week!
she deserves to be celebrated
for the mother she is to us, her three grown kids
and to all of BCC.
we spent the night with an expensive dinner at
cafe marco (of marco polo hotel)...
what does [deserving] really mean?
haha, we can only
give her a fraction of its meaning!

we just want to say,
"WE LOVE YOU, MA!"
the world is so blessed to spend
golden years with you!
keep pounding rocks
and keep polishing us
that the gold within us, too, will be revealed!
u'r such a rare piece
that beautifies our worlds!
keep blessing and discipling this generation!
we really need women,
or better yet, "mothers" like you.
teach us!
go go go, mi mama!
happy birthday!

vision casting at JILMI

we left davao at three in the afternoon yesterday.
we were bound for JILMI
(Jesus is Lord Ministries International),
Digos City.
i brought AJ along with me
since i can't bring the eleven others yet.
we jumped into the Holiday bus
and readied ourselves for the youth vision casting
with prayers and songs.
We were welcomed by a darkened city
because the power went off the whole day.
we pushed through with the activity, though.
(since we're already there! haha!)
Cathy, Ps. Ally's and Ps.Marlyn's youngest daughter
greeted us with a candle-lit dinner.
came seven-thirty, we started the night.
and at the first song,
the place was electrified.
God is really good, right?
Favor is on our side!
I shared about Mary's divine encounter
and her discipleship to Elizabeth.
I wish to share the points in the message.
but that would be on a different blog,
if you don;t mind! ;-D
we retired at the Floreses
and spend the wee hours with Cathy.
knowing her and the youth group,
giving tips and developing sisterhood.
still jumpy,
AJ and I continued to talk at our room
about our goals, victories
and what else we can do for our network.
We ministered that night
yet, we felt like receiving our own
portion of fire and ideas for the Vision!!!
praise God!
We continued ministerting early today,
but this time, to a group of pastors
under Ps. Ally's network.
I was given the first session
(Working the G12 Vision)...
I had a great week,
and tomorrow will start another one.
ktfb, everyone!

vision casting @panabo city

it's 11:29pm now.
AJ and I just got from Panabo City.
We went there for a vision casting.
we helped the young people
start their youth service.
thk God we're home safe after a long bus wait.

summer extension

my girls in deep sea

amor, dipping

my bro

my sis

me, chillin'

we had our youth reload staff island hopping today
at Talikud Island, IGACOS
(Island Garden City of Samal)...
so fun and so relaxing!!!
it was all nature (plus our silly BCC nature, haha)
mababaw lng talaga ang kaligayahan namin.
in short, corny!
we had our second stop at one of the long white stretch
of Talikud. we played games and ate lunch.
we baked ourselves under the scorching heat of Mr. Sun
as we lavished ourselves with lots of digi clickin's.
it seemed like we own the whole virgin resort.
i really enjoyed snorkeling...
all the fishes graced my being there.
they really entertained me.
and oh the corals! lovely!
i literally pained my hands
as i unconsciously held on to my life jacket too tightly!
i actually don't now how to swim.
i can't even dog stroke! haha.
but i dared myself at plunging into cold green waters
of Samal. and it's perfectly worth the WHY-NOT.
so just after my 1-hour jumping, kicking, floating
in the deep, i terribly sprained my right leg
when i climbed up the boat.
it's just good that i was all done with my soakin'. hehe.

so here i am waiting for my dampened hair to dry totally.
i'm already looking forward to another hoppin'
to some island in November (joke!)
it's because i had gone to one last month. hehe.
i ain't dreamin' yet.
i am wide awake.
it's actually weird that i don't crave for sleep
after a very energetic day!
i was totally strengthened by the beach getaway!
wooh, new discovery for me!
sea, sand and sun is no longer stress for me!
haha... thank you summer for extending! ;-D
